For 12+ years, Brandon Comella has served middle school and high school students as the Youth Director at Millwood Community Presbyterian Church until he started Millwood Impact in early 2020. He and his wife have lived in the West Valley Community for many years and their two daughters attend West Valley Schools. Over those years he has built strong connections and relationships with the West Valley School District, Hutton Settlement, local businesses, and nonprofits. Brandon has seen the importance of holistically caring for youth and families over those years and is excited to expand the work with what Millwood Impact is able to become.
Jeremy Clark has lived in Spokane for over 15 years and has a Masters of Arts in Theology from Whitworth University. He and his wife Holly have been married for 12 years and they have 3 children. He has worked in nonprofits for more than a decade, mostly with at-risk youth and youth experiencing homelessness. Over those years, he has worked directly with youth, as a volunteer Coordinator and has served as a Program Director. Jeremy is so excited to contribute to the mission, vision and values of Millwood Impact and to make a difference in the Millwood and West Valley community both in our after school programs and beyond.
Peyton Prudente is a recent graduate from Whitworth University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications with a minor in Theology. She has vast experience working with elementary schoolers, middle schoolers, and college students over the years, and is happy to continue working at Millwood Impact in her position as the Program Director. Peyton values creating sustainable relationships with the people around her and looks forward to using her skills and gifts in order to better serve the Millwood & West Valley Community!
Trina Colliver - STAR Club Coordinator at Orchard Center Elementary
Trina has lived in the Spokane community for several years. Trina met her husband in the 7th grade and they have been married for 31 years. They have two grown children and both love to volunteer for different youth programs. Trina has worked with at-risk youth and their families throughout the years and is excited to be working at Millwood Impact. Trina is looking forward to bonding and creating a lasting impact on the students and the community as a whole.
Niki Woods - STAR Club Coordinator at Seth Woodard Elementary
Niki was born and raised in Michigan. Being a military family, she has moved all over the country and settled in Washington in 2010. She has a strong background working with children and teenagers, providing resources and support. Niki believes that walking alongside youth is the best approach to helping them achieve their goals.
When she is not working, Niki and her husband enjoy being outside hiking and camping with their 4 dogs.
Kezia Rhodes - STAR Club Coordinator at Ness Elementary
Kezia Rhodes is a born and raised Spokanite, and has a deep love and appreciation for the region. She has worked with students preschool through high school, creating safe, fun, and community oriented afterschool programming. Kezia believes strongly in the leadership and wisdom students already possess, and she prioritizes creating an environment where students know they can try, succeed, or fail without fear or shame. She loves the way Millwood impact creates space for young people to be known and cared for, as well as care for and know the community they belong to. When she’s not hanging with rad students, you can find Kezia catching the latest flick, taking her dog for a walk, or trying a new recipe out she saw on instagram.
Alyssa is passionate about impacting and empowering youth and families while valuing the importance of developing a strong, compassionate and committed relationship with the community. She works at The Hutton Settlement Children's Home, where she’s developed strong partnerships in Millwood, including the West Valley School District, Millwood Presbyterian Church and like minded non-profits.
Jack is a retired Environmental Health and Safety Manager who now works as a consultant and instructional designer. He enjoys skiing, carpentry, and especially gardening with his wife, Elizabeth. For the past four years, he has served as an administrator for Little Free Pantry Spokane, supporting over 70 community pantries. He has also led gardening classes through Growing Neighbors and volunteers with STAR Club, where he teaches children about gardening. Jack looks forward to continuing his service with Millwood Impact and helping strengthen the community.
Shawna is the principal investigator (PI) of the CHORDS Lab. After a fulfilling 20-year career as a nurse leader, which included 12 years in hospital administration, she returned to school to earn a PhD in Nursing with an emphasis on population health. She specializes in triangulating data analysis with community-driven insights and translating the application of newly created knowledge. Shawna lives and serves as a city councilwoman for Millwood, WA. Her research spans rural neighborhoods and small-towns through WA State, but is based at the WSU Extension and the CHORDS Lab office in Bellingham, WA.
Shirene has strong ties to the Millwood community through her 30 years employed at Inland Empire Paper Company. Her interests are to serve the community in and around Millwood. Her service has included participation in S.C.O.P.E. and Valleyfest boards and she is a founding member of the Millwood Community Association which operates the Millwood Farmers Market, Pumpkin Patch Community Garden and other Millwood events. Shirene and her husband Pat have six kids, two that graduated from West Valley High School. Currently two of their twelve grandchildren are students in the district.
Gene began his career in West Valley in 1989 as a teacher and coach at Centennial Middle School and West Valley High School. Gene also served as the Centennial Assistant Principal, Orchard Center Elementary Principal, Centennial Principal, West Valley High School Principal, the West Valley Assistant Superintendent, and after a thirty-one-year career retired from West Valley as the Superintendent. Gene continues to be very connected to the West Valley and Millwood communities and is honored to be associated with Millwood Impact.
